Find a partnership

Setting up and managing projects have constituted the primary activity of INRAE Transfert since 2011. The goal of INRAE Transfert is to give INRAE researchers access to specialists in project set-up and management who have consolidated their expertise in many fields over the company's 10 years of existence.

The services that INRAE Transfert offers researchers in building a project as part of a call for projects can be divided into three major stages:

  • Assistance with setting up proposals, which covers the following aspects: Open or Close
    • Advising the coordinator and partners on positioning (definition of goals and objectives, alignment with the call for projects, competition etc.) and the structure of the project (division of the project into work packages, pillars, tasks etc.), building the partnership (skills, typology, geographical representation, distribution of responsibilities) and structuring the budget (allocation to work packages, partners, expenditure items etc.);
    • Relieving the project sponsor of administrative and logistical duties;
    • Writing the 'para-scientific' portions of the proposal;
    • Collecting and consolidating the scientific, financial and administrative contributions from partners.
  • Negotiation support, which includes: Open or Close
    • Negotiating the contract; in particular, drafting the description of work which must incorporate requests for changes to the service as set forth in the proposal submitted;
    • Preparing administrative forms and the budget;
    • Assisting with, advising and monitoring the negotiation of the consortium agreement.

     

     

  • Project management, which includes the following tasks: Open or Close
    • Advising on the strategic orientation of the project;
    • Defining and implementing control tools and procedures;
    • Organising, monitoring and coordinating meetings of the consortium;
    • Establishing and analysing interim and annual reports;
    • Controlling spending;
    • Providing daily assistance to partners.

 

To deliver meaningful support to researchers working on unique projects, INRAE Transfert has built a team of nearly 30 specialists with expertise in setting up and managing three major types of project:

    The Europe Department at INRA Transfert sees itself as a 'sherpa' to researchers as they set up and manage European projects, for which it has developed special services adapted to the international dimension of the projects.

  • Set up a Sustainable Agriculture project Open or Close

    In this domain, INRA Transfert proposes the following services:

    • Identify a private partner to validate or leverage technical results in sustainable agriculture;
    • Receive support at the various stages of setting up transverse projects with various stakeholders in agricultural development (ANR, Casdar, FUI etc.);
    • Obtain information about events and publications organised by INRA's 'SIG Sector' (Scientific Interest Group Sector), see the latest results of SIG projects, and/or be introduced to the scientific coordinators of these consortia.

    What is an SIG Sector?

    In a context characterised by rapid technological changes, economic uncertainty and consumer expectations, there are an ever increasing number and diversity of requirements that must be meet to ensure the sustainability of agricultural production systems. For professionals in these sectors, the challenge is to tackle these various requirements by working toward a convergence of improvements in economic, environmental and social performance.

    This vision prompted INRA to create its SIG Sectors (Scientific Interest Group Sectors), whose purpose is to contribute to an innovation-oriented 'sustainable development' model by generating scientific and operational knowledge. These research and development consortia can involve research institutes, institutions of higher education, technical institutes, upstream and downstream professional partners and stakeholders from the public arena.

    The SIGs allow the various partners to participate in the early stages of R&D programmes to identify new topics of interest while incorporating all relevant technical, social and economic approaches. The objective is to achieve scientifically proven innovations that are operational in the field and integrated into more sustainable production systems.

  • Set up an Investments in the Future project Open or Close

    As part of this major lending programme, INRA Transfert was selected to set up and manage the 'Investissements d'Avenir' (Investments in the Future) projects coordinated by INRA. With 10 specialists in complex projects and Investments in the Future projects, INRA Transfert carries out the following specific tasks:

    • Assist the coordinating centres with managing the many partners involved in each project;
    • Serve as a link between the partners of each project and the ANR and CGI (General Commission for Investment);
    • Protect and promote the interests of the Investments in the Future projects to stimulate their ripple effect on growth.

    What is the Investments in the Future programme?

    Launched in 2010, the 'Investissements d'Avenir' (Investments in the Future) programme represents €35 billion to be injected into higher education, vocational training, research, industry, SMEs, sustainable development, and in any other sectors of the future such as digital technology, biotechnology and nuclear science.

    This funding programme, which is implemented through a system of calls for projects, aims to cultivate fertile ground for innovation to drive economic recovery and restore strong, sustainable growth with a significant ripple effect. The stated goal of the programme is to encourage research and innovation and to transform France into a knowledge society.

  • Find a partnership with a laboratory Open or Close

    Our goal is to give INRA technologies and know-how the best chances of reaching their market. This is why we attach great importance to technology transfer and to the formation of balanced, fruitful partnerships between INRA laboratories and businesses.

    In 2016, INRA Transfert is involved in the operations of four Carnot institutes coordinated by INRA:

    Each of these institutes consists of a network of laboratories known for their strong commitment to research partnerships with businesses in their sector of activity.

    INRA Transfert assists in promoting the laboratories' array of expertise to businesses. At the request of companies, INRA Transfert introduces them to laboratories and research teams in line with their needs. We then support the scientific teams of both parties in pursuing their joint research projects. We negotiate intellectual property rights and the terms under which the results can be used in consideration of the contributions, needs and strategies of the two parties

    What is the Carnot label?

    The Carnot label was created in 2006 to promote research partnerships, i.e. research work carried out jointly by public laboratories in partnership with socio-economic actors, mainly companies (from SMEs to large groups), in response to their needs.

    Research partnerships are an important economic driver because they promote innovation in business, which is a determining factor for growth.

    The Carnot label is awarded for a renewable period of five years to public research structures, known as the Carnot institutes, which conduct upstream research activities, to help them hone their scientific and technological skills while simultaneously implementing a proactive research partnership policy to benefit the socio-economic sphere.

    A shared commitment:

    • Develop research partnerships for businesses
    • Promote innovation
    • Develop technology transfers

    • 15% of public research in France (27,000 FTEs, including PhD students)
    • Half of the contracts funded by companies for French public research

  • Le label AgriO French Tech Seed pour les entreprises de l’agri-agro Open or Close

    AgriO, c’est quoi ?

    AgriO, c’est la possibilité pour la jeune entreprise d’obtenir le label AgriO French Tech Seed si elle remplit les critères de Bpifrance. Ce label lui permet d’accéder à un financement Bpifrance sous forme d’obligations convertibles à hauteur de 2 pour 1 des fonds levés jusqu’à 250k€.

    L’entreprise bénéficie également de l’accompagnement AgriO, qui est :

    • complémentaire de celui déjà reçu jusqu’à présent
    • sur-mesure, réalisé à la fois par ce consortium national d’experts de l’agri-agro et enrichi par celui de leurs réseaux de professionnels depuis la maturation jusqu’à l’investissement.

     

    AgriO, c’est pour qui ?

    Le label AgriO French Tech Seed cible les entreprises :

    • de moins de 3 ans
    • porteuses d’une innovation à forte intensité technologique dans les secteurs agricole, agro-industriel ou agroalimentaire et une propriété intellectuelle maîtrisée
    • qui ont réalisé dans les 3 derniers mois (ou en cours) une 1ère levée de fonds d’au moins 25k€ auprès d’investisseurs avisés. *

    L’entreprise doit être déjà accompagnée par l’un des partenaires AgriO.

    * Une entreprise qui n’aurait pas identifié d’investisseurs peut néanmoins candidater. Elle sera mise en relation avec le réseau d’investisseurs AgriO.

  • Un collectif de 9 partenaires de l'agri-agro Open or Close

     


    9 partenaires de l’agri-agro se sont réunis pour constituer le consortium AgriO labellisé « Apporteur d’affaires French Tech Seed » pour Bpifrance.

    Les compétences collectives et la complémentarité de ses partenaires font du consortium AgriO un acteur essentiel du domaine agri-agro dans l’émergence et l’accompagnement de projets d’entreprises à forte intensité technologique répondant aux critères du financement French Tech Seed.

    400 Millions d’Euros d’investissements publics en jeu

    La labellisation de ce consortium fait suite à l’AMI (Appel à Manifestation d’Intérêt) annoncé par le Premier Ministre Edouard Philippe, le 21 juin 2018, pour le fonds d’investissement French Tech Seed, doté de 400 M€ issus du Programme d’investissement d’avenir, qui est opéré par Bpifrance et qui a aura vocation à soutenir les startups technologiques en phase de post-maturation, notamment des startups de la Deeptech et de moins de 3 ans. L’originalité du fonds repose sur un mécanisme d’apporteurs d’affaires labellisés et un effet de levier sur l’investissement privé.

    La candidature

    Pour candidater, l’entreprise doit en premier lieu se rapprocher d’un des partenaires AgriO. Elle doit avoir moins de 3 ans, être porteuse d’une innovation à forte intensité technologique et avoir réalisé dans les 3 derniers mois (ou en cours) une 1ère levée de fonds auprès d’investisseurs avisés.

     

    L’admission

    Un comité d’admission, composé des partenaires AgriO, évalue l’éligibilité de l’entreprise candidate, la « consistance » de son dossier et identifie les forces et les points de progrès.

     

    L’accompagnement

    L’entreprise admise peut se voir proposer un accompagnement AgriO personnalisé en vue de sa labellisation. Le comité d’admission préconise ainsi un plan d’actions/ accompagnement le plus adapté à l’équipe de l’entreprise pour qu’elle puisse se présenter dans les meilleures conditions auprès des investisseurs.

     

    La labellisation

    Lorsque l’entreprise est suffisamment mature, elle peut se présenter au comité de labellisation et est sélectionnée au titre de son éligibilité au dispositif AgriO French Tech Seed . Si elle est sélectionnée, le consortium AgriO lui adresse un courrier, appelé Courrier Prescripteur, qui valide son éligibilité au dispositif.

     

    La post-labellisation

    Post-labellisation, l’accompagnement pourra se poursuivre par la mise en relation avec des investisseurs pertinents parmi le réseau des partenaires AgriO.

     

    Le financement Bpifrance

    Lorsqu’elle dispose du Courrier Prescripteur, l’entreprise prend contact avec Bpifrance. Le label AgriO French Tech Seed lui permet d’accéder à un financement Bpifrance sous forme d’obligations convertibles à hauteur de 2 pour 1 des fonds levés jusqu’à 250k€.

    8 juillet 2020 Webinaire AgriO : le label pour reconnaître les jeunes entreprises agri/agro à potentiel

    Le consortium AgriO, animé par INRAE transfert, propose un nouveau processus de labellisation à de jeunes entreprises innovantes en recherche d’investisseurs. Délivré par des experts des mondes agricoles, agro-industriels ou agroalimentaires à des jeunes entreprises à haut potentiel, le label AgriO vient parachever un accompagnement personnalisé réalisé par des structures spécialisées (incubateurs, accélérateurs, pôles de compétitivité…) qui ont mis en commun leurs expertises. Pour des investisseurs, ce label permet de mieux qualifier le deal-flow. Pour de jeunes entreprises, c’est un accompagnement et un facilitateur de mise en relation avec des investisseurs.
